Severity: normal

Cherokee has a Depends on logrotate. Assuming cherokee only uses
logrotate to rotate it's logs, cherokee should work fine without it,
although doing so is unusual as your disk would fill up pretty quickly.
According to the DPM, this is precisely the purpose of Recommends - to
enable configurations which are possible and functional however unusual.

The reason is that I have a system which I am trying to keep absolutely
minimal, and there is a webserver on there which will only be accessed
occasionally (ie. it's not public). For this reason I've told APT not to
treat Recommends as a Depends. Installing cherokee still brings with it
logrotate, which in turn brings cron and a whole bunch of other stuff I
otherwise wont need.

Therefore, I think cherokee should Recommends logrotate instead of
Depends.

Thanks!

cherokee was last released with Debian 6.0 (squeeze) in
February 2011 and removed from Debian sid/unstable in 2012 (see
http://bugs.debian.org/670298 for details on the removal). Since
support for squeeze and squeeze-LTS has now ended, I'm closing all the
remaining bugs reported against this package.
