Package: squid3
Version: 3.4.8-6+deb8u2~bpo70+1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I have been running squid3 from wheezy-backports fine for some time, currently
on version 3.4.8-5~bpo70+1. However, following the recent update to
3.4.8-6+deb8u2~bpo70+1, it is now uninstallable (and unupgradable):
# aptitude dist-upgrade
The following packages will be upgraded:
squid-cgi{b} squid3{b} squid3-common squidclient{b}
4 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 2,610 kB of archives. After unpacking 226 kB will be freed.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
squid3 : Depends: libc6 (>= 2.15) but 2.13-38+deb7u10 is installed.
Depends: libdb5.3 which is a virtual package.
Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 4.9) but 4.7.2-5 is installed.
squidclient : Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14) but 2.13-38+deb7u10 is installed.
squid-cgi : Depends: libc6 (>= 2.14) but 2.13-38+deb7u10 is installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:
Remove the following packages:
1) squid-cgi
2) squid3
3) squidclient
Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]
Clearly the versions of the above dependencies are not available in wheezy, or
wheezy-backports, and have crept in from the packages for jessie somehow.

Hello,
I have just rebuilt and uploaded a new version of squid3 in
wheezy-backports. This should fix the issue with unmet dependencies.
Regards,
Markus
