Package: debdelta
Version: 0.55
Severity: important

It turns out debdelta uses tmpfs for its temporary file operations.
While it has its benefits, it also has its side effects, like the
following:

Created, time 4.85sec, speed 1233kB/sec, libc6-dbg_2.23-2_amd64.deb

Created, time 122.05sec, speed 293kB/sec,
linux-image-4.6.0-1-amd64_4.6.4-1_amd64.deb
Created, time 77.41sec, speed 374kB/sec,
libreoffice-core_1%3a5.1.5~rc1-1_amd64.deb
Error: applying of delta for linux-image-4.6.0-1-amd64-dbg failed: : Sorry,
not enough disk space (3618192kB) in directory /tmp for applying delta (needs
3681844kB) (retriable)
Delta-upgrade statistics:

total resulting debs, size 271MB time 819sec virtual speed 338kB/sec
There were faulty deltas. Sending logs to server.
debdelta-upgrade : No module named poster

Either debdelta should add a fallback location (non-tmpfs) or have it
user configurable.

This is what debdelta has:
TMPDIR = ( os.getenv('TMPDIR') or '/tmp' ).rstrip('/')

I'm going to mark this bug as invalid and close.

Fiddling for space should not be the job of a general purpose application.
