When I insert the card, the kernel scans it and then prints the partition list non-stop. Jan 28 16:09:39 buzzword kernel: hde: hde1 Jan 28 16:09:39 buzzword last message repeated 81 times udevd chews a lot of CPU. The rest of the normal hotplug process (hal, gnome-volume-manager etc) never happens. If I remove the device, the machine will hang soon after. If I boot without udev loaded, this doesn't happen. I get a single partition scan and I can mount the device properly. As soon as I then start udev, the rescanning starts.
