Package: spectrwm
Version: 1.0.0-1
Severity: wishlist
It'd be good if spectrwm was in the debian window managers menu to
switch to it from another window manager.
I get some joy from a debian/spectrwm.menu file below, and adding to
debian/rules
dh_installmenu
which installs it in the package as /usr/share/menu/spectrwm
?package(spectrwm): \
needs="wm" \
section="Window Managers" \
title="spectrwm" \
command="/usr/bin/spectrwm"

Versions of packages spectrwm depends on:

ii libx11-6 2:1.4.4-4
ii libxrandr2 2:1.3.2-2
ii libxtst6 2:1.2.0-4

ii eterm [x-terminal-emulator] 0.9.5-3
ii suckless-tools 38-1

Hi Kevin,
first of all, let me apologize for letting your bug report
linger for more than four years. I've only recently gotten
back to active Debian contribution, and hope to be more
active and reponsive in the future.
Part of that is cleaning up the BTS. As the CTTE decided
last year[1] to deprecate menu files in favor of desktop
files, I'm closing this bug.
Truth be told, I'm pretty confused about the menu file you
contributed even working in the first place - AFAICT,
spectrwm will refuse to start if another window manager is
running, and lacks the --replace command line option that
other window managers such as Metacity provide for this
very use case.
In case you're still running spectrwm, I hope you'll enjoy
the latest-and-greatest 3.0.2 that hit testing a couple of
weeks ago :)
