Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0+dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

setup:
firewall port 8000 is forwarded to internal server port 80.
browser pointed at url like: http://67.164.36.205:8000/x.html

behavior:
the first request, the server returns 200 for all page components
(css, js, etc) and the page works fine.
second request, the server returns 304 for most components, and
     the browser hangs.

additional info:
if port 80 on the firewall is forwarded, and the port specifier
is removed from the url, everything is fine.

the problem didn't happen in a recent mozilla-firefox on windows.
