Package: chromium
Version: 43.0.2357.124-1
Severity: normal

Normally, the Chromium ‘New Tab’ page displays thumbnails of eight ‘top
sites’. However, my installation of Chromium fails to display the
thumbnails (see [1]). The sites are there – the thumbnails are not. As
may be inferred from the screenshot, this persists even on a fresh
profile.

Inspecting chrome://thumbnails, as well as the
~/.config/chromium/Default/Top Sites SQLite database, suggests that the
thumbnails are actually not being saved.

This issue may be related to Chrome #475108 [2], but I’m unable to
reproduce the problem on upstream’s Chrome 43.0.2357.125, so I won’t
file a bug upstream. I also looked at upstream’s commits between
43.0.2357.124 and 43.0.2357.125 [3], but I don’t see anything that could
have fixed this.
