Ok, this is terribly outdated. I will try to build a current MITK
against debian packages and update this.

We did some work on getting the ctk package to work since ctk is the
only big toolkit MITK needs that's not in debian either. The status
can be found here [1]. I think most issues are resolved but we did not
follow this with high priority. In general I'm not sure if a separate
ctk package would be strictly necessary as long as MITK is the only
project in debian using it. Some patches for the ctk packages are on
my github [2], let me know if they are any questions about them.
For MITK it would be great to have at least the workbench application
as a general DICOM viewer / annotation tool in debian. We would be
very happy to help on packaging this. Do you think we would need lib
and dev packages right from the beginning? We currently do not have a
working "make install" that includes header files, but we are
currently moving to newest CMake's module system which should greatly
simplify things.
