the python GPGME binding named "pyme" was taken over by the GnuPG
upstream team that is also responsible for GPGME.
After one release, in response to developer demand (including from
myself), upstream renamed the module from "pyme" to "gpg". The new
"python-gpg" and "python3-gpg" binary packages are provided in debian
from the gpgme1.0 source package.
The new gpg module is compatible with the older pyme interface. That
is, anywhere that someone did "import pyme" they can now do "import
gpg".
In addition, there is a layer of much more idiomatic python in the
"gpg" module, which makes it easier to use, and upstream support for
the python bindings looks to be active and responsive. It also
supports python3 directly, which the older "pyme" did not.
Please remove the pyme package from debian unstable.
