Hi Ian,
When first skimming through the man pages, I assumed that this was
talking about native packages as in those that don't have a - in their
version, so carried on looking.
I presume you're actually on about 3.0 (native) format, in which case
I think it would be helpful to be a bit clearer about this in manual.
My attempt at improved wording is attached.
