I happen to be building packages on a 64-core system. This might actually be a
nice test environment for a package like ck, but unfortunately the tests do not
seem to finish in reasonable time. I gave up on the following:

./barrier_centralized 64 1 1
Forcing the number of cores down to 4 (using --cores=4 on the command line)
makes the tests go through very quickly.
