Package: sylpheed-gtk2
Version: 0.9.9-4
Severity: wishlist
The current version adds several font stanzas (*_font_gtk2) to sylpheedrc.
Ideally, at least in gnome, it should use the "application font" for most
everything apart from the message_font_gtk2 (which probably ought to default
to the monospaced font). It should pick up font name and size (and vary
this with the "bold", -20% or so for small, +40% or so for title). If this
gnome information isn't present (I'm not certain whether this is a gtk thing
or a gnome thing, though I suspect it's gnomeish), then use the existing
defaults.
This would make the newly installed version integrate more closely with the
desktop. Alternatively, if there's already a sylpheedrc with font specs, it
might try to map the X font specs to fontconfig.

These bugs were filed against the sylpheed-gtk2 package, now out of debian
because it was superseded by the official sylpheed gtk2 version (package
sylpheed). The bugs were assumed by the sylpheed package, but as far as I
can test these bugs are not present in current sylpheed (2.2.0). Therefore
I'm closing them with this mail.
Please, don't hesitate to file a new bug against sylpheed if you think
some of these bugs is still there. Other bug reports welcomed too! :)
thanks for reporting,
