Package: sylpheed-gtk2
Version: 0.9.99-2
Severity: important

I will try a short explanation of the Problem: When I try to recive
e-mails, it in most cases crash sylpheed-gtk2. Sometimes just after
downloading all e-mails, in most oft the cases it will also crash
bevor downloading all emails, so they wouldn'd be removed on server's
and the list of e-mails will amount (i.e. it ist not very confortable
when having subscribed to mailinlists).

Now even if I start it from a console, i mostly become only a
segmentation fault, on other cases I get more Information (see
below)
Firstly more Information when I start it with strace sylpheed-gtk2 i
get then in most oft cases, at the end such an output:

In the other cases, when it will download all e-mails correctly, but
crash afterwards, i become sucht an output:

Naturally I have tried to find with google ans so one. I found also,
for example I have found a bug (also segfaults) when sending e-mails
[1] and [2].
For the recive on the servers i have Configured pop3 (APOP auth),
activated ssl for recieving and that the e-mails will be removed on
server, when the e-mails where downloaded.

Also on bugtracker of the sylpheed-gtk2 Project [3] there is a similar
Problem, but it was a very old Problem, and it was resolved in the
next version of sylpheed-gtk2.

When I start sylpheed-gtk2 from an open Terminalemulation, then i
become in most of case only a segmentation fault, sometimes also
errors as such:
----- snip -----
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sylpheed-gtk2
unset new flags because mark_queue exists
procmsg_write_mark_file(): writing mark file...

But in this last cases, sylpheed-gtk2 is not crashed.

At last, i will excuse me of the bad english, it is not my native
language, but I have tried to be as correct and exactly as possible
for me.

These bugs were filed against the sylpheed-gtk2 package, now out of debian
because it was superseded by the official sylpheed gtk2 version (package
sylpheed). The bugs were assumed by the sylpheed package, but as far as I
can test these bugs are not present in current sylpheed (2.2.0). Therefore
I'm closing them with this mail.

Please, don't hesitate to file a new bug against sylpheed if you think
some of these bugs is still there. Other bug reports welcomed too! :)

  thanks for reporting,
