While the service works commendebly and I thank the sys-admins along with the ftp-masters and their minions in keeping the archive humming along. Most parts of debian has already used and made TLS part of the website experience, shouldn't have https connection while updating promote anonymity while at the same time making the person downloading the index and package updates/upgrade more secure. Which http redirector? https://deb.debian.org/ supports HTTPS (although APT does not support using the SRV records for HTTPS yet) and http://httpredir.debian.org redirects to http://deb.debian.org.
