Package: xsane
Version: 0.998-6+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
Xsane fails to find the scanner. sane-find-scanner finds it at
/dev/bus/usb/008/003 scanimage -l or scanimage -L fails to find it.
I have installed the iscan package from Epson, as several reports
indicates this includes a driver/wrapper that may help, but iscan is
"unable to send comannd".
/dev/bus/usb/008/003 is crw-rw-r--+ 1 root root - this could be a problem
for regular users, but root is also unable to find the scanner with the
same results as above.
The scanner was working with current Jessie 32b upgraded through several
versions of Debian, and I believe I may have solved a similar problem in
the past, but I can not find my notes on that.
