Package: arpwatch
Version: 2.1a13-1
Priority: wishlist

Just a quick note regarding the latest version since it fails to add some
of the changes I introduced in the NMU in the ethercodes.dat file. I'll
commment on them using part of the diff betwen both versions (2.1a11-6.3
and 2.1.a13-1)

[ This MAC address is used by most VRRP implementations, including
Nokia's security products which are quite common, the name above does not
talk about VRRP which might be misleading for many users ]

[ I fixed a typo there which obviously did not make it into your package
version ]

[ Are missing from the new ethercodes file too, these were obtained IIRC
from FreeBSD's ethercodes file [1] ]

BTW, does the ethercodes file contain all the vendor codes available at
http://map-ne.com/Ethernet/vendor.html? Would it be worth parsing it and
reviewing which ones aren't there?

Just wanted to let you know.

Regards

Javier

Version: 2.1a15-3

Hi,

since version 2.1a15-3, arpwatch no longer ships with its own
ethercodes database. It uses oui.txt from ieee-data instead.

Thus this bug report no longer applies, closing.

Thanks
Lukas
