Package: samba-common-bin
Version: 2:4.1.17+dfsg-2
Severity: minor

Dear maintainers,

In the smb.conf manpage, the following sentence is written:
"This is parameter has been was deprecated in Samba 3.0.23, but re-
activated in Samba 3.0.31 and above, as it now only controls permission
changes if the user is in the owning primary group."

I think the begining should be corrected for something like: "This
parameter was deprecated in Samba 3.0.23, ...".

This string can also be found in the Stretch version of the package
(samba-common-bin 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4).

Thanks for your time and work,
Yvan

This is fixed in all supported versions as 4.2.14, where the patch is
applied was forced into jessie with the badlock fixes a year ago.
