Package: texlive-latex-extra
Version: 2016.20170123-1
Severity: wishlist
Hello Debian TeX Maintainers!
Thanks for all the hard work on Debian TeX packages: it's really
appreciated!
Could you please include python-latex-highlighting [1] into Debian
package texlive-latex-extra? It is released under the terms of a
variant of the 3-clause BSD license [2].

[2]

The reason why I think it would be useful is that it seems to be
required by the LaTeX code produced by the doconce Debian package [3].

I am testing this lightweight markup language and I found out that even
a minimal DocOnce document, such as:
$ cat mytestdoc.do.txt
TITLE: My first Doconce test document
AUTHOR: Francesco Poli
DATE: today
======= Hello =======
Hello to every reader of a *DocOnce* document!
when translated into LaTeX code meant for pdflatex with the following
commands:
$ doconce format pdflatex mytestdoc
translate doconce text in mytestdoc.do.txt
output in mytestdoc.p.tex
$ ptex2tex -DMINTED mytestdoc
running preprocessor on mytestdoc.p.tex... defines: 'MINTED' done
done mytestdoc.p.tex -> mytestdoc.tex
produces a LaTeX source file that uses LaTeX package ptex2tex [4], which,
in its turn, uses LaTeX package pythonhighlight.
[4] /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/ptex2tex/ptex2tex.sty from Debian
package ptex2tex
I think that LaTeX package pythonhighlight should be included in Debian
package texlive-latex-extra (which is a dependency of Debian package
ptex2tex), since it may be useful in a more general context, rather
than only in conjunction with ptex2tex.
I hope this can be done.
Thanks for your time and your helpfulness!
Bye.
