Hello Philippe,
To support Debian menu section translation, you should add
outputencoding="LOCALE";
in /etc/menu-methods/golem.
(This assume golem expect the menu files encoded in the current locale
encoding, which seems to be the case.)
With that setting, Debian menu will generate translated menu files.
However there is a caveats: you should take care that golem use fonts
for the menu suitable for non-latin1 language, else e.g. Japanese users
will get an unreadable menu.
