Package: libterm-readline-perl-perl
Version: 1.02-1
Severity: normal
As of the last update, this package seems to drop into vi mode if the
EDITOR environment variable contains the substring "vi" : imo this is
very bad behaviour, as it causes programs using this package to drop
into vi mode for no well documented or expected reason:
If the user wanted vi mode, they'd set their inputrc accordingly -
The EDITOR environment variable is for specifying which external
editor should be invoked when the program needs one - not for
defining the default readline mode.
