Package: gpm
Version: 1.20.4-3.1
Severity: normal

I tried to contact the upstream mailing list as written in README.gz:
The mailing list devoted to gpm is "g...@lists.linux.it"
The list is managed by Mailman and is currently open,
so non-subscribers are allowed to post.

However, this is not the case:
Your message to the following recipients cannot be delivered:

<g...@lists.linux.it>:
    picard.linux.it [213.254.12.146]:
>>> RCPT TO:<g...@lists.linux.it>
<<< 554 5.7.1 <static.213-239-213-133.clients.your-server.de>: Helo command
rejected: generic HELO hostname

I then went to the Debian PTS and intended to follow the link to the
homepage, but this is 404.

Hi Helge,

I'm currently going through the list of open gpm bug reports as I've
recently adopted the package together with Samuel Thibault.

Helge Kreutzmann wrote in January 2012:

This URL is the value of the Homepage header since version 1.20.4-5 in
June 2012, so it has been fixed in the meanwhile.

This contact information is correct and still valid.

This is a valid bounce: Your host did very likely not send a proper
HELO string, so this is (or was) a configuration issue on your MTA
host and not on the receiving side. The receiving side just seems a
little bit picky. Picky, but not wrong.

And JFTR:

→ swaks -t g...@lists.linux.it -q rcpt -f a...@debian.org
=== Trying smtp-avas.seeweb.it:25...
=== Connected to smtp-avas.seeweb.it.
<-  220 in-3.smtp.seeweb.it ESMTP Postfix (Debian/GNU) (Seeweb)

 -> RCPT TO:<g...@lists.linux.it>
<-  250 2.1.5 Ok
 -> QUIT
<-  221 2.0.0 Bye
=== Connection closed with remote host.

Since the mail issue is a non-issue from my point of view, and the
homepage issue is already fixed, I'm closing this bug report.

                Regards, Axel
