Hello Bdale,
I got this in my /etc/bind/named.conf, I think it is standard:
logging {
category lame-servers { null; };
category cname { null; };
};
I believe this is telling bind "Don't bother me about lame servers or
CNAME not A record type problems".
Why do I get this in the logs?
Aug 12 09:43:24 fozzie named[5967]: ns_forw:
query(130.175.204.210.in-addr.arpa) All possible A RR's lame
and
Aug 12 08:43:23 fozzie named[5967]: ns_forw:
query(100.216.156.208.in-addr.arpa) NS points to CNAME (magic.ferron.com:)
learnt (CNAME=208.156.216.1:NS=204.70.49.234)
I got plenty more of both these lines, but you get the idea.

Hi,
the bind9 bug list grew too much and the Debian BIND team cannot
simply test all the reported bugs against versions not in stable, so
this is mass bug close, as either the version is no longer relevant
(because of old-old-stable 9.8.x or old-stable 9.9.5 or even older
version of bind9) or the bug was already fixed.
However, if you can reproduce the bug with a current version in stable,
please use Debian BTS 'found <bug> <version_you_reproduced_the_issue>'
command to retag the bug and reopen it.
Cheers,
Ondrej
