Package: dnsutils
Version: 1:9.2.2-2
Severity: normal

Hello. I discovered this while pumping commands in a script to nsupdate
via 'echo "blah blah" | nsupdate -k Kinsertkeyhere.private', but the
problem persists at the keyboard. nsupdate wants two newlines after
every command, not one after each and then a final empty newline after
the last:

# nsupdate -k Kkeyname.private
> update add foo.caresswm.org. 3600 IN A 192.168.1.200
> update add 200.1.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 3600 IN PTR foo.caresswm.org.
>
> #

Doesn't work. You need an empty newline after each command. This goes
against the man page and my previous experience with nsupdate under BIND
v8.

Thank you.

Hi,

the bind9 bug list grew too much and the Debian BIND team cannot
simply test all the reported bugs against versions not in stable, so
this is mass bug close, as either the version is no longer relevant
(because of old-old-stable 9.8.x or old-stable 9.9.5 or even older
version of bind9) or the bug was already fixed.

However, if you can reproduce the bug with a current version in stable,
please use Debian BTS 'found <bug> <version_you_reproduced_the_issue>'
command to retag the bug and reopen it.

Cheers,
Ondrej
