Package: textedit.app
Version: 4.0-3
Severity: normal
Suppose we have some text file foo.txt. Then:
1. Exit from TextEdit.app if it is active.
2. Open this file from GWorkspace
3. Close the window of foo.txt
At this stage the menu of TextEdit is still visible
4. Select "Hide" from the menu of TextEdit
5. Open again foo.txt from GWorkspace
At this stage the window of foo.txt appears and is active, but the
menu of TextEdit is missing and the shortcuts (the Command+something
combinations) do not work. However the window of TextEdit is active
and the user can edit the file.
6. Click with the mouse over the window of foo.txt.
The menu of TextEdit appears and it is possible to use the
Command+s.t. combinations.

Hi Anton,
First of all I would like to apologize for the woefully belated
reaction. It shouldn't take more than 10 years to triage bugs.

4.0+20061029-3.5 from stretch/buster cannot open a file from
GWorkspace at all. I'm pretty sure this worked at some point.
With 5.0-1 from unstable I cannot reproduce the problem, after step 5
the document window appears along with TextEdit's menu. So I'm
closing the bug, please reopen with more info if you can still
reproduce.
