Hello,
sam2p will be removed from Debian, as it is not really maintained
upstream, uses a customer and quite unusual build system that does not
works with current build tools, and can easily be replaced by other
tools like ImageMagick.
Could you therefore remove it from the Suggest control field of rubber?
I have checked, and all useful formats supports through sam2p, are also
supported through ImageMagick or other tools (some unusual formats are
not, but nobody uses things like IFF Interleaved Bitmap with LaTeX, and
if such people would exist, they would be skilled enough to know how to
convert them by other means…).
