zugesendet.
When using ftpsync via a SOCKS proxy, I noticed that the connection
always ends when the files to be deleted in the Stage2 are canceled due
to a timeout of the SOCKS tunnel. A detailed analysis has shown that the
RSYNC client apparently calculates its keepalive times as follows:
Timeout / 2 = Keepalive-Timer. In the ftpsync script, this timeout is
set to 3600 seconds. Keepalive packets are therefore sent only every
1800 seconds. Our Socks Proxy, on the other hand, has a keep-alive of
120 seconds. This is why the Socks Tunnel breaks off during the clean-up
phase in Stage2, as there is a break in data traffic. Although it is
possible to pass special RSYNC parameters, ALL RSYNC parameters must be
used to change the timeout. For this reason, it would be helpful if the
timeout parameter could be included as an extra variable in the
configuration.
I have already sent Bastian Blank a corresponding DIFF proposal.
