Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.0.6-3.1
Severity: normal
When using nfs, I get a ton of logentries like:
Sep 4 23:15:28 janos rpc.statd[3520]: Received erroneous SM_UNMON
request from janos for 192.168.1.1
(etc), both on server and client. I googled for erroneous SM_UNMON, and
got a lot of people asking the same question, but no real answers,
except http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0112.2/1190.html
However, in Debian it looks like to be something else that's the
problem, as rpc.statd seems to run as root.
I have no idea where to look, but if you need extra info, please just
ask. Both server and client run sarge, i386, with the kernel nfs daemon.
Client has nfsvers=3 as option.
Thanks,

This is obviously a duplicate of #165744, which was fixed in 1.0.7-1.
02:23 < Sesse> jvw: in any case, it's obviously a dupe, so I guess it should
be closed
02:23 < Sesse> jvw: unless you want to insist that it is fixed in sarge
02:23 < jvw> does it actually hurt?
02:23 < Sesse> jvw: doesn't look that way
02:23 < jvw> I'm totally fine with it being closed if it's fixed for etch
02:23 < Sesse> jvw: it looks like it
02:24 < jvw> so, feel free to close if you're convinced it's indeed fixed
02:24 < jvw> I can't really easily judge on that, but if you say so... :)
IOW, closing. :-)
