Package: firestarter
Version: 0.9.2-3
Severity: wishlist

Whenever I run firestarter, I get logging information about dropped
packets or something like that on the consolei and I would like to get
rid of those messages since they render the text console unusable.

( This also seems to be one of the most popular questions on the
firestarter mailing list. )

Maybe README.Debian should provide the following information:

In order to prevents firewall messages from being displayed on the
console, run this command as root: dmesg -n3

This command must be run everytime the system is rebooted.

Also, it might be interesting to extend this explanation with the
"proper" Debian way of running this command at system startup.

Right now, I have a script in /usr/local/bin that runs dmesg -n3
and there is a symmlink from /etc/rc3.d to this script. Maybe
you know of a "cleaner" way to achieve this ?
