Package: network-manager-gnome
Version: 0.8.2-3
Severity: important
Since I updated from 0.8.1 to 0.8.2, I can't use anymore the nm-applet
application to connect to a wireless network. The symptoms are:
* the Wired and Wireless devices are shown as "disconnected", although
there are wireless networks that show up;
* if I try to connect to a wireless network, nothing happens. On the
console, I have the following output:
** (nm-applet:2410): WARNING **: <WARN> activate_connection_cb():
Connection activation failed: No user settings service available
* I can't enable or disable "Networking" or "Wireless" when I right
click on the tray icon, because the entries are greyed out;
* I can edit the settings of the Wireless connections I saved, but I
can't set the flag "Available for all users", because it is greyed
out.
Despite all of this, the wireless system seems to be OK, since I can
connect using wpa_supplicant alone.
Also, I tried to downgrade to NetworkManager 0.8.1-6, which I was using
previously, and it worked as expected.
I provide, attached to this email, the output of the NetworkManager
daemon and nm-applet for the faulty version:
* the daemon log doesn't show anything when I tried to connect to a
Wireless network;
* the nm-applet log shows what's happenning when I try to connect and
when I try to edit a connection.
Thanks
