Package: gnome-do
Version: 0.8.3.1+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
Normally when a shortcut to an app in Docky is clicked, it opens the app, or,
if it is already open, brings the app into focus. The shortcut for Iceweasel,
though, acts differently, it always opens a new instance of Iceweasel (even if
IW is already running). Further, the initial launch adds a second IW icon to
the desktop. This icon is used normally, so if other IW windows are opened they
are "managed" by this icon. The problem seems to be that the actual IW process
(that shows up, for example, in ps output) is /usr/lib/iceweasel/firefox-bin,
but the standard shortcut (which I dragged onto Docky from the GNOME menu)
points to /usr/bin/iceweasel. Creating a custom launcher for /usr/lib/iceweasel
/firefox-bin and using that results in the expected/desired behavior.
I'm not sure if this "bug" is entirely GNOME-Do's fault, since the series of
symbolic links and scripts that fire up IW are rather unusual, but this is
definitely a feature that doesn't work as it should when interacting with
perhaps the most commonly used program on a desktop system.
Thanks for all your hard work! Happy to provide more details and/or do testing.
