--- Begin Message ---Package: openssl Version: 0.9.8g-7 Severity: wishlist Hello, Since glibc 2.7, the GNU libc supports SHA256 and SHA512 based passwords. Support in shadow was added in version 4.1.0. You can also find some information, the specification and a public domain implementation in: http://people.redhat.com/drepper/sha-crypt.html http://people.redhat.com/drepper/SHA-crypt.txt It would be nice to be able to produce these passwords using `openssl passwd` Thanks in advance, -- Nekral
