Package: jd
Version: 1:1.8.8~beta070218-cvs20070302-1
Severity: wishlist
jd uses "setlocale( LC_ALL, "ja_JP.UTF-8" )", so the locale data of
ja_JP.UTF-8 is required. Please mention how to prepare the
required locale data (run "dpkg-reconfigure locales" and select
"ja_JP.UTF-8") in README.Debian or so.
I've noticed that the jd source file contains debian/README, but
/usr/share/doc/jd/README.Debian is not installed. Please rename
debian/README to debian/README.Debian to install it by dh_installdocs.
BTW, the upstream new version jd-1.8.8~beta070317 checks that if
the value of environment variables "LC_ALL", "LC_CTYPE" or "LANG"
is not ja_JP.UTF-8, a warning message is displayed, but this is not
a correct judgment. jd works under ja_JP.eucJP or so if the locale
data of ja_JP.UTF-8 is available. I recommend that displaying a
warning message if the return value of setlocale() is NULL.
Thanks,
