I had similar problems some years ago, but I forget the details. I
assume this is not specific to guvcview since cheese has similar
problems. vlc does not seem to find the (built-in) webcam.
I tried modprobe'ing some likely video drivers including uvcvideo without
success.

disable the webcam: which was the problem.
