Hi,
The apport init script does not detect if the package has been removed
but not purged. This means that the core pattern might be set when
apport is not installed.
BTW, you might want to change that initscript with a syctl snippet
installed at /usr/lib/sysctl.d/, as both procps (used under
non-systemd) and systemd-sysctl handle it correctly.

unstable. See https://bugs.debian.org/924960 for details on the removal.
I'm therefore closing the remaining bugs.
