moving to Python3 without updating reverse dependencies has resulted in a
failure...
I'm uploading a revert of that patch and dependency, to fix "mypaint" build
(one example I encountered).
If you want to move to Python3, I suggest to open a transition tracker and
rebuild reverse-dependencies before uploading such disruptive change...
