Package: zope
Version: 2.6.1-10
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

if a package which contains a Zope product is removed from Debian this
does not mean that it is removed from your Zope installation because the
Products are kept in Data.fs. You can check the remainders in the
ZMI:Control_Panel/Products. Only if you remove the product from this
place the package really vanished from your system. In some circumstances
this might be important in case of very old products hanging around in your
installation which might break other stuff.

In fact I see no solution for this problem other than bother upstream
to find a way how to fix this.

Anyway we might find a way for our upcoming zope policy to advise users
in the postrm script in a convinient way (perhaps not debconf because
there are quite a lot messages showing up, but sending a mail might be
a good idea - or just ask once with debconf wether you want to get informed
via mail if you should remove a product) to remove Products from ZMI
once the package is removed.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
