Package: src:check-mk
Version: 1.2.6p5-1
Severity: wishlist

An upstream check_mk installs the automatic inventory plugin:

/usr/share/check_mk/agents/plugins/mk_inventory.linux

and the following inventory checks:

/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/aix_baselevel
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/aix_packages
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/aix_service_packs
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/dmidecode
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/esx_vpshere_hostsystem
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/export_software_csv
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/lnx_cpuinfo
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/lnx_distro
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/lnx_packages
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/lnx_uname
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/lnx_video
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/mem
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/prtconf
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_mem
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_pkginfo
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_prtdiag
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_prtpicl
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_psrinfo
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/solaris_uname
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_bios
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_cpuinfo
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_disks
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_exefiles
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_os
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_reg_uninstall
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_system
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_video
/usr/share/check_mk/inventory/win_wmi_software

Automatic inventory checks are descibed at:

http://mathias-kettner.com/checkmk_inventory_checks.html

We don't currently include these in the check-mk-agent package. The
upstream provided agent deb doesn't either. Many don't apply to linux,
and for the ones that do running them all the time adds to the agent load.

If there is sufficient demand for any of these checks we could consider
doing a separate package, as we do for logwatch. We could also consider
putting them in the package under /usr/share/doc/check-mk-agents/inventory/
or something, so that people could copy or symlink to them if they need
them.

So if you need any of these things, please speak up here.

Thanks,
