Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
This package hasn't been touched since I NMUed it several years ago. In
theory it could be updated to drop python2 support, but then the
packaging needs a major overhaul (compat = 5 and it shows), which no one
appears to be up to doing, so it's better to remove it now rather than
just barely fix it up enough now and leave a bigger mess for someone
else later.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The removal is already on hold due
to there being a reverse depends. I don't know about other ways to anyalze
wpad files. My interest in this is strictly related to archive hygiene and
moving the python2-rm process along.
I'm marking the rm bug as done based on this feedback. I'll go ahead with my
NMU to drop python2 support. Since debian-edu is interested in the package, I
strongly recommend you consider adopting it because it's clearly unmaintained.
I'll leave the bug against debian-edu open as a reminder (feel free to close
it if that's not useful).
