Package: kmod
Version: 26+20191223-1
Severity: important

When installing a *new* Linux kernel 5.4.0-3-amd64, I got 3567 errors

depmod: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:515 lookup_builtin_file() could not open
builtin file '/lib/modules/5.4.0-3-amd64/modules.builtin.bin'

after

Setting up linux-image-5.4.0-3-amd64 (5.4.13-1) ...

I've attached the log with most error messages removed.

Note: This appears to be different from bug 948350 as the path is not
the same (starting with "/lib/modules" here instead of "/var/tmp/"),
and this occurs after "Setting up linux-image-5.4.0-3-amd64" and not
during update-initramfs.
