search API, but the option isn't even available in the Debian build.
This would seem to be a package build issue, rather than a source bug,
since the tellico home page claims that it is currently available as a
feature.

this was not a bug after all, it simply requires some configuration.
Since a lot of time passed since this bug was reported, and maybe the
GUI changed as well, let's close this bug. In case there are more
issues, please report them to the upstream bug tracker at
