Package: kernel-package
Version: 12.036+nmu1
Severity: normal
For yeras I have been compiling my kernel using a source directory
and a build directory.
make O=/.../mytargetdirectory
and buid own brewed script to build various drivers like nvidia.
Now that nvdia proprietary driver seems to be fairly stable , I wanted
to use dkms and the nvidia driver infrastructure to remove the build
of the nvidia package and use debian pacakged version of nvidia driver.
Unfortunately there is no way (or I missed it) to tell make-kpkg to use an
O=/.../mytargetdirectory when building the kernel from source
building using make-kpkg breaks the make O=/.../mytargetdirectory as
it request to do a make mrproper and require root priviledge to remove
the debian directory.
Why not support a target_buildir option.
I found now way but installing a kernel image that I do not care at all...
