Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.20-2
Severity: normal
I set "record" to save sent messages in my Sent folder. If I try to
send a message, and it fails to send (most commonly, because I typo my
password or hit enter before providing a password), I will still end up
with a copy of the message in my Sent folder. When I then send the
message correctly, I end up with another copy. This seems wrong, though
I don't know the best way to solve it.

The issue with this bug is that I'm pretty sure someone will open a bug for
data-loss once we implement it.
To me it seems a slight annoyance vs losing data if the SMTP is unavailable, so
I'm marking it as wontfix.
If upstream will fix it (it seems unlikely), definitely we will import it in
debian.
