The last version of tcl3270 is to be found in oldstable.
However, I need it, so I'm hoping it can be included in the future. The
ibm-3270 source is entirely capable of building it.
What I did was change debian/control and debian/rules to build tcl3270.
To do this, changes were necessary in tcl3270/configure.in, because it
didn't find tcl.h in its standard place in debian, /usr/include/tcl8.4.
Also, configure is run with --with-tcl=8.4 as the default is 8.3.
Running autoconf regenerates the configure script, and I did not include
the modified configure script in my patch, but I guess I could have.
Instead, debian/rules calls autoconf to regenerate the configure script.
To get this working tcl8.4-dev and autoconf are now Build-Depends. If
autoconf is run to regenerate the configure script, then the
Build-Depends of autoconf can be removed.
This patch is to be applied to the ibm-3270-3.3.4p6/ directory after the
dpkg-source -x ibm-3270_3.3.4p6-3.3.dsc step but before the
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -b step. That made fort the clearest
and smallest patch.
I'm not a regular debian maintainer, so I'm not sure I'm following
policy. But this works. Please let me know if there is a smarter way to
supply a diff to a source package.
