Source: testinfra
Severity: normal

I'm creating this bug report to track the project rename.

testinfra has moved its code under the pytest-dev github group in order to enable a more collaborative development of the plugin [1]. The upstream project live now at:

https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest-testinfra

To fit the naming convention requirement of pytest-dev, the repository has been renamed to pytest-testinfra [2].

Following along, the project itself as well as the pypi release have also been renamed. The only name that hasn't changed is the module name.

In addition to the pytest naming convention, renaming the project has also permitted to move away from the confusion between testinfra and test-infra [3].

Given that:
  - The testinfra name can be a source of confusion
  - Upstream has renamed its project
  - testinfra is currently only available in unstable

I intend to rename the source package to the new name pytest-testinfra. The binary name will be renamed according to the Debian python policy as python3-testinfra.

Here are the list of step to follow in order to complete the rename in Debian:

- Move the Debian packaging repository on salsa (done)
- Update VCS links (done)
- Update the source package name, in debian changelog, control file and copyright (done)
- Declare approriate Breaks, Replaces, Provides (done)
- Upload pytest-testinfra to NEW
- Request removal of testinfra
