When trying to connect to a dict server that is configured to deny
access to the client system the dict applet reliably hangs, needing to
be killed in order to recover.
strace shows that the process is stuck in an infinite loop calling
read() on the connection to the dict server and getting zero bytes
returned.
This may be the same issue as #214074, I'm not sure.
