Package: partimage
Version: 0.6.0-3
Severity: important
When I start partimage on my system it shows the following warnings:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/(part1|part2|part5|part6)
inode doesn't exists. Partimage can
create it for you. You can also use the
manual mknod command. Do you want this
inode to be created for you now ?
When I answer the questions with yes (or with no) nothing happens in /dev.
In the main screen of partimage the following informations appear:
ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part1 -unknown- 0 bytes
ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2 -extended-
ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part5 -unknown- 0 bytes
ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part6 -unknown- 0 bytes
ide/host0/bus0/target1/lun0/part1 -unknown- 0 bytes
So I can't backup anything.

partimage outputs a warning and aborts if a devfs enabled kernel is used
but /dev is not mounted. There is nothing much more we can do as we need
a working /dev directory. Besides devfs is now officially deprecated and
the stock Debian kernels do not support devfs anymore.
I'm therefore closing this bug.
