Hi!
I'm using a chroot environment to install a couple of machines.
Unfortunately, the current versions of smartmontools are trying to start the
daemon in the chroot. This fails and prevents a successful installation of
the package:

Please don't start the server in case of a chroot.

Hi,
this is a problem with your setup. Smartmontools neither start's smartd
nor does it turn on smart for any disk by default. If you don't want
anything to happen in the chroot then leave the config as it's shipped.
Cheers,
