Package: prelink
Version: 0.0.20041012-1
Severity: wishlist

I noticed that the docs actually mention that prelink doesn't handle
prelinking files as they're installed/upgraded, etc. But I really think
it should try to. Rather than the 'few minutes' mentioned, prelink has
been running for hours now, and isn't yet finished. It would make a lot
more sense to prelink new binaries as they're installed, and to prelink
binaries that depend on a certain library when the library is upgraded.

Also, on a related issue, and especially if the above is not going to
happen, perhaps a better progress report method would be helpful: a
verbose mode, that prints the names of binaries as they are prelinked,
as well as the ones that fail, or perhaps a fancier progress bar,
currently processed file, tail of last few files, and an ETA would be
great.
