Package: courier
Version: 0.64-2.1
Severity: normal
Hello Maintainer,
If I install on a fresh system, the courier packes try to install exim4
whch is definitivey not desired. Even if I install explicit courier-mta
the install scripts output tonns of errors, because "exim4" is NOT
installed.
Since courier is not a simple MTA or SMTP or IMAP or POP3 server, but
instead a WHOLE server suite, the depends should be setup to
Depends: courier-mta | default-mta
which will avoid any error messages if someone install the whole courier
suite.
While installing a whole new server, the current behaviour from Lnny and
Squeeze output more then 800 lines of error messages if you instal a
full server with around 70 target packages where most require an MTA.
Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Unless a real dependency issue (other than something boiling down to
courier-mta not being the default MTA) comes up, I'm inclined to close

Given nothing else popped up here, I'm now closing this ticket.
