Package: ketchup
Version: 0.9.8+hg5533f6de130c-2
Severity: wishlist
Hello,
It would be very nice if ketchup could download the next patches to apply
while unapplying some other. Such an overlapping would reduce the whole
ketchup time a lot.
For instance, if you go from 2.6.25-rc5-mm1 to 2.6.25-rc6-mm1, it should do:
1) start downloading 2.6.25-rc6.patch in the background
2) unapply 2.6.25-rc5-mm1
3) when (1) is done, start downloading 2.6.25-rc6-mm1 in the background
4) unapply 2.6.25-rc5
5) wait for (1) to be done and apply 2.6.25-rc6
6) wait for (3) to be done and apply 2.6.25-rc6-mm1
Some people thinks (1) and (3) could possibly be done in parallel too
but I think it is better to not slow down (1) because of (3) since
(1) is needed first.
thanks,
Brice
